Candidate Declaration
Middletown deserves a government that is transparent, accountable, fiscally responsible, and responsive to its residents. If re-elected to the Town Council, I will focus on four key priorities:
Transparency and Public Engagement
Town government should encourage open discussion and public involvement. I will work to improve communication, make records and information more accessible, and ensure residents have meaningful opportunities to provide input before important decisions are made.
Fiscal Responsibility and Affordability
Taxpayers deserve responsible stewardship of their money. I will support disciplined budgeting, identify inefficiencies, and seek practical ways to control spending while maintaining essential services. I will also advocate for reforms to Middletown’s tax structure, including concepts I first proposed in 2018, to create a system that is fair, more predictable, and more transparent while providing stable funding for the town.
Leadership Accountability
Fresh perspectives strengthen government. I support reasonable term limits and accountability measures that keep elected officials focused on the needs of residents rather than political interests. Public service should always come with responsibility and transparency.
Fair and Ethical Governance
Town decisions must be made in the best interests of Middletown residents. I will support policies that prevent favoritism and conflicts of interest in hiring, appointments, and contracting, ensuring decisions are based on merit, fairness, and integrity.
My Commitment
My goal is to restore trust in local government by making it more open, accountable, and responsive to the people it serves. Together, we can build a more transparent, affordable, and sustainable future for Middletown while preserving the character and values that make our community a great place to live.
